Liquid Asphalt

Asphalt cement is derived from fractional distillation of petroleum crude oil using heat and vacuum. Broken down into Performance Grades determined by upper, intermediate, and lower pavement design temperatures. For example, a PG 64-22 represents pavement design temps of 64 and -22 celcius, respectively. The Strategic Highway Research Program compiled daily weather data and the upper temperature represents the average temperature at the surface while the lower temp represents the average at 20mm below the surface. Different grades are used in different geographic regions.

Commonly known as Crack Seal. With the addition of a rubberized modifier, this material will seal cracks. Represents pavement design temps of 64 and -22 celcius, respectively.
